RULES

Quite. There's very little a simple party game like this could throw at me that I haven't already overcome in the past.

[trageteas]

All right. [What to say that will sufficiently irritate her but not make her want to do anything horrible to him?]

I'd like to see you drink tea with hot sauce in it.

[HE'S BAD AT THIS GAME.]

Any particular preference for the level of heat in said additive? [she doesn't quite sound perturbed yet, but whether she's really irked or not is yet to be seen.]

More than you expect to be able to handle.

[thorny]

That's rather subjective. I suppose that I'll simply have to do my best with the given circumstances.

[trageteas]

That's the spirit. It's a game, not a torture session.

Some people would debate you on that point. [and she just happens to have a bottle of Extra Hot Sauce on hand...somehow.]

It oughtn't be. Not to a girl your age. [...but she can suffer a tiny bit, that's okay.]

You'd be surprised as to what's already happened to a girl my age. [but that's neither here nor there. she mixes in a judicious amount of hot sauce and, after a minute pause, downs the concotion.

[And here's Jules trying very hard not to laugh and feeling mean that it's taking so much effort to do so.

[she finally manages to get her expression under control and regards him serenely]

...yes, well. Mission accomplished and a perfectly lovely cup of tea ruined. Congratulations.

I have plenty. [Not that he particularly likes to ruin tea.] That was quite a feat, I'm impressed. I'm sure your friends would be impressed.

That was never a fact I questioned. Loud noises and bright colors serve to impress the majority of them anyway, so this would be right up their proverbial alley. [she rolls her eyes]

Of course, I'm certain that my newfound ability to stomach the most noxious of concoctions will serve me well should I ever find myself held prisoner in a culinary death camp. Thank you for the training that will eventually lead to my miraculous survival.

I'm not sure whether I should take that as a sign of optimism or simply a coping mechanism... unless you've managed to live a life that leads you to expect that to happen.

[thorny]

At this point in my existence the odds of something such as that not occurring are far lower than they have any right to be.

[trageteas]

I don't suppose I want to know why that is.

[thorny]

Unless you've an unhealthy bent for predestined tragedy, no. Shall we proceed with the game instead?

I think I would prefer that, thank you. I suppose it's your turn to ask me?

Indeed it is. Truth or dare?

I shall take a dare as well. It's only fair.

Then I dare you to take a shot of ketchup. [something simple, not too punishing. she'd save the big guns for later.]

What's your definition of "shot" in this context?

[thorny]

[she conveniently has a shot glass! she holds it in her palm calmly]

I was under the impression that sort of thing required a liquid.
