LETS HAVE OURSELVES A QUESTION MEME YOU GUYS! We've got a lot of new faces and it's a fun way to get to know each other! You don't even have to have CR to ask questions so everyone should pounce on one another. :>

Basically this is what you do!

1. Ask someone a question. It can be about character feelings, headcanon, thoughts on character quirks, first impressions, the player's favorite cheese, SERIOUSLY ANYTHING. Though RP related is prob preferred, I say go wild. QUESTIONS ARE QUESTIONS!

it's my charming personality and rakish good looks, i'm sure!!

but man, that's a really tough question. i've loved them all for various (and very different) reasons, but i guess i just have to go with crane! first character in the game (two years ago, wow,) first attempt at running a plot, all the stuff i got to do with the witch camp, all the negative cr, the hamminess and outright villainy... it was just a really fun time.

--a fun time i may get to repeat very soon, just with another villain. :')

Has he ever removed his hat in Death City?

just once, very recently, and it was only to ask kanji to fix it. who knew spending a month in a city having to deal with sandstorms, giant ants, zombies, spiders, getting shoved in pools, climbing cliffs, and not having portals to dodge any and all attacks would take such a toll on his hat's well-being!

headcanon says he sleeps in it though. so unless you also count showers, then that's the only instance, yep!

screams WELL i'm sure it's an ever-present danger, but probably one easily dealt with? like it won't spread terribly because it's not like they're going to share hats -- that's... that's just wrong!!

who knows, maybe one of the "dozens of maladies" he'd cured in his lifetime was eliatrope hat lice. one of the few species he'd have no qualms about wiping off the face of the planet!

a baby that's the reincarnation of the guy qilby was kind of obsessed with

also i just read the rules and WHOOPS so if jules had to give up tea or fancy clothes forever, which would he choose

That would depend on how fancy he was allowed to go if he gave up the clothes. See, he doesn't particularly enjoy clothes and primarily wears things that confirm him as high in status but aren't very complicated. So having to give up anything embellished or flamboyant or unnecessarily expensive? Already done. But he wouldn't accept underdressing for an occasion or looking like a poor/lower class person.

Basically, tea is a luxury and wearing proper clothing is a survival technique, but clothing is also more prone to being frivolous whereas tea is not.

um um what kind of questions do you like in these kinds of memes?

How often has Qilby turned into his alternate form since showing up at Death City?

not at all! he's been stripped of the one thing he knows that'd give him the surge of energy necessary for it. :(

also he'd just be kind of hard to miss -- you know, laying low and all... nothing really "laying low" about a bone-white shirtless guy covered in tattoos and in an enormous bunny-eared hat.

and now that i've ACTUALLY read the meme rules i think i'm ready to do this correctly-- how's aranea dealing so far not being able to feel the emotions of others?

Sort of like Deanna Troi when she lost the same sense in "The Loss," except without her existential crisis. Star Trek: The Next Generation reference for the nerd |Dc

She's been finding it hard, though, and has been surprised how much she relied her empathic sense to get a "feel" for the world around her. In an instant she could walk into a room and "know" the energy in it, the feelings people were having, and whether or not she'd want to sit down or maybe it'd be safer to go somewhere else D:. Without it, she's been sort of wandering in the dark and it has been putting her more on edge.

Mostly it has been effecting her interactions with others. She'd normally be able to "know" what people were feeling and now she has to "guess." In some ways, this is the envy that she had for other people who didn't know and sort of makes things interesting? Be careful what you wish for, Aranea. In any case, she finds herself second-guessing herself more, is more uncertain, and is REALLY watching and listening to others more when she talks to them. She's mostly herself, but just... not 100% when it comes to what people are feeling at any given moment, losing her edge over them.

naw, he's just got little generic pointy elf ears! but what else's under the hats he and the protagonist and all other people of their race wear is a secret that's kept until the very last episode of the series. :J

and i almost get that reference! but only because TNG is the one trek series i watched, though it was only when i was growing up and it was on tv.

is there anyone she's completely misread so far? if not, how would that go down? :Ia

Not yet! Despite her lack of ability, she's still amazingly good at being able to read facial expressions, hear intonations and interpret body language. It's a little like being able to tell how good a car runs by driving in it, turning it, heading up and down hills rather than just opening up the front and looking at the engine. She knows what to look for because she's had so much experience "seeing" the real thing.

But she might be getting close in one of her conversations right now... if she were to ever really majorly mess up, depending on what happens, she'd be flustered for a bit, apologize, explain that she must have not understood as well as she thought and redouble her efforts to listen.

This hasn't happened yet, so her confidence is still pretty high.

How would Qwilby respond to somebody that's been around longer than him? :>

with skepticism, most likely... if they aren't completely miserable or share his philosophies or what not, that is. his are almost completely a product of his memory's longevity -- see people grow, age, and die around you through the millennia, trapped on one planet you've explored every inch of, with no meaningful advancements despite your greatest efforts to move onto something new, and you'll become a crazy, nihilistic little butt too!

if they're happy, well-adjusted or whatever, he'll probably just either end up resenting them or figure they must be lying. he's convinced himself that it's his environment and situation that's forced him to take the action he has, and wouldn't be able to bear the idea that it's some weakness of character that's his issue rather than his immortality itself -- to him, his eternal memory's a curse just as much as it is a power, but he'd hate it to be considered a problem that needs to be solved, or fixed or something. why should he have to change for others, why are their priorities valued over his?
