This meme is here to let prospective characters mingle ICly with the characters already in the game and each other. It helps us introduce various scenarios that you're likely to encounter in Soul Campaign and the different places used in the game. Hopefully, this helps you figure out if the game is really suited to your needs or not -- otherwise, just have fun!

The scenarios for this cycle are:
1. Shibusen has run out of free residential units! You are now stuck in one of their dorms with three other people. There's no privacy at all!
2. You find yourself trapped in the Holocaust mall during a blizzard. It's not as nice as you might think when there's a kishin egg or two prowling about.
3. There's a disease spreading that gives any meister or weapon who doesn't have a partner boils on their faces. You have exactly three hours before it reaches you -- time to make use of partner activities to get one. Please indicate if you're a meister or a weapon on your subject header.
4. It's mission time! You're suddenly thrown into a mission with a stranger (or several strangers). Do you flee or fight? (Current mission board is here.)
5. Your character was brought into Shibusen with a big problem. It seems that the BREW thought it would be funny if guys were girls and girls were guys. You have to race up the Shibusen steps to get the antidote, but you have to drink it with one or more people. Apparently, BREW likes company?

[ at that moment Allen came skidding around the corner, almost slamming into her. he had been trying to get away from those-- those things that were here in the mall. ]

R-Rhode?!

[suchselfishness]

[ She's jumping back from him clumsily, stumbling over her own feet. ]

Allen! What in hell do you think you're doing?!

[clowned]

I haven't decided yet!


[ which wasn't really what she meant-- but it was true he had no idea what to do without his innocence. he hadn't even realized the extent of his dependence on it until he had been thrown into this. ]

[suchselfishness]

What-- [ Oh, shit. She can hear the things coming.

They're so screwed. There's one way, though- Not that she likes it, but if they kill these things, they both get to survive. ]

You- You know how to fight with a polearm, right?

[clowned]

Huh?

[ he blinked at her a moment before taking in exactly what she was getting at. he could wield most weapons, although his skill varied depending on what it was. nodding, he stepped toward her. ]

Yeah, I can use one.

[suchselfishness]

Well, that's something.

[ She has a feeling this isn't going to turn out well, though she's hoping it does. If this goes wrong, they're both dead. ]

D'you think you can ignore the fact that we're enemies long enough to resonate with me and kill that thing?

[clowned]

[ he wants to say no, that he can figure this out on his own. he doesn't trust Rhode anymore here than he did at home-- but he can't think of a better option at the moment. wearily, and somewhat desperate, he holds out his hand to her. ]

I can if you can.

[suchselfishness]

[ She hesitates, all the same; she's the one who'll be helpless in this situation, in her Weapon form, and the only people she's ever been wielded by are Mukuro and Kuroro.

Allen wouldn't do anything to get either of them hurt, though. ]

... Don't get us killed.

[ And she takes his hand, closing her eyes and transforming with a slow, deep breath. ]

[clowned]

[ he stares down at his hand as she shifts into weapon form. he's never wielded anyone before, but once she no longer looked like Rhode it was hard to imagine the pole-arm was once a person. he also takes a deep breath, and when he speaks his voice is flooded with that tone of determination he uses while fighting akuma. ]

I won't.

[suchselfishness]

[ This makes her nervous, being so... exposed, to Allen, of all people. She can't really focus on hiding her soul from him right now, though. If they're going to resonate, she can't let her reservations get in the way, or she will be the one getting them killed.

She hates this, and she doesn't even try to hide the feeling- But the rest of it is there for him to feel, as well, if he reaches out to meet her soul in resonance. ]

[clowned]

[ the struggle Rhode is feeling is mirrored by Allen, as he tries to push his feelings of frustration out of the way. the idea of being so close to her soul is about as appealing as walking on broken glass, but he needs to focus. now isn't the best time to concentrate on who he resonating with, and so he gives himself several moments to attempt to feel her better. ]

[ Despite her reluctance, the strongest feelings in Rhode's soul at this moment are related to concern- Worry that they won't be able to win this fight, concern that one of them will end up injured, and oddly, stronger than the rest, the fear that she will be unable to return to her Meister safely. He'll be upset if she's hurt, even moreso if she ends up dead.

There's a bit of protectiveness in there, as well: She wants to keep Allen safe, though she doesn't want him to know how strongly she feels about it. She'll kill anyone who threatens her or the things she cares for, and he happens to fall into that category. ]

[ Allen grasps at her soul as best he can, slipping slightly when he finally touches on it. her concern is understandable in the present situation- she is partly human, after all. it's something else that confuses him, something that feels close to caring.

was that really Rhode's soul? he doesn't have much time to think about it, though. the sounds from down the hall are growing louder, and defending both of them is what was most important at the moment. ]

If we could... resonate well enough, I think I could scare it off.

[ But that's not going to happen, not to the same level of resonance she has with Mukuro, and trying it isn't likely to give them an upper hand. ]

... Go for the neck or the heart. It's quickest that way.

[clowned]

I think I can figure it out.

[ it's more a mutter to himself than to Rhode, as if he's trying to talk himself into it. Rhode's first comment didn't make a lot of sense to him, but he figured it had to do with her weapon ability.

as long as kishin were like normal monsters this shouldn't be too hard, right? ]

[suchselfishness]

... Then prove it.

[ Perhaps she'll be able to push him into a good fight- Or it'll distract him. ]

[clowned]

[ he frowns at that, but doesn't speak anymore. instead he focuses his energy on trying to keep the tiny bit of resonance they have a the moment.

now that he has a weapon in hand, however shaky it may be, his desire to wait for the kishin dissolves-- instead he finds himself taking off and rounding the corner in the direction he came, heading straight towards the commotion. ]

[ She sighs quietly as he begins running, taking the time to bite her lip and relax.

One breath, another, focusing on how he's feeling at this moment in an effort to compromise, increase their resonation as much as possible before they actually go into the battle. She's stubborn, but she knows when to prioritize survival over her pride. ]
