This meme is here to let prospective characters mingle ICly with the characters already in the game and each other. It helps us introduce various scenarios that you're likely to encounter in Soul Campaign and the different places used in the game. Hopefully, this helps you figure out if the game is really suited to your needs or not -- otherwise, just have fun!

The scenarios for this cycle are:
1. Shibusen has run out of free residential units! You are now stuck in one of their dorms with three other people. There's no privacy at all!
2. You find yourself trapped in the Holocaust mall during a blizzard. It's not as nice as you might think when there's a kishin egg or two prowling about.
3. There's a disease spreading that gives any meister or weapon who doesn't have a partner boils on their faces. You have exactly three hours before it reaches you -- time to make use of partner activities to get one. Please indicate if you're a meister or a weapon on your subject header.
4. It's mission time! You're suddenly thrown into a mission with a stranger (or several strangers). Do you flee or fight? (Current mission board is here.)
5. Your character was brought into Shibusen with a big problem. It seems that the BREW thought it would be funny if guys were girls and girls were guys. You have to race up the Shibusen steps to get the antidote, but you have to drink it with one or more people. Apparently, BREW likes company?

Just choose any one randomly, or make up your own, we don't mind! To make things simpler, please follow this subject line:

[Neji watches the exchange with a critical eye, fingers itching to reach for the kunai tucked in his sleeves if Kisame even twitched aggressively. But the shark-nin's hand swamps Bold's and Neji doesn't relax until she has it back unbroken]

...That was an introduction and explanation I was hoping to save for later. [A Look at Bold for disrupting his plans, he shakes his head and glances back at Kisame] She has split personalities, though I wouldn't say it's a detriment to her mental health. It won't be difficult to tell them apart.

[Bold starts a moment, eyes wide at that 'taichou' attached to the end of it--that's not exactly something she's heard before in regards to her--before she breaks out into a wide grin again, clearly delighted. You've just completely cemented yourself in Bold's good graces, dude.

She opens her mouth to respond once her hand's back, but Neji beats her to the punch and she pouts a moment]

Not hard at all. I'm the cool one-- I talk more and I'm much more confident. Lain's quieter and politer; she's pretty shy. And our voices are totally different!

[Bold's personality also makes it hard to remember sometimes how young or small she is; she takes up every space and isn't afraid to let people know she's there. Lain, on the other hand, tries to take up as little space as possible, never wanted to take more then she absolutely needs out of respect of what another might want to use.]

[Kisame only chuckles again; just as he'd imagined, Bold must be considered secondary to Lain. And naturally, as a secondary personality, she must not get the respect she no doubt craves, either. Everybody does give precedence to the "original", don't they?

Well, whatever, he can handle this. Quite well, he figures, especially given how tensely Neji seems to be taking their meeting. There's no shame in being protective over your partner.....]

Plans are fleeting, anyway. But I already know a guy with split personalities, it's no big deal--I daresay you and Lain will be simple to keep track of, eh? You're the cool and confident one, Lain's the cute and shy one. Anything else I ought to know?

Not about us- at least for the moment.

[He sighs, looking Bold over, eyes lingering on the fraying edges of her skirt] Lain was trying to look nice today, Bold. If you wanted it modified, you should have consulted a tailor.

For now, you should go change; it's too short and threading apart. In the meantime, I'll show Kisame where he'll be patrolling in our zone.

[Bold nods along in agreement to Kisame--that's basically it for her and Lain-- and she turns her attention to Neji]

But that wouldn't have been as much fun! Why'd she want to look nice anyway? There's no one to impress!

And it's totally not too short. This is the style. I made it stylish. [She's also quite possibly making that up. Bold moves to Neji, grabbing at his arm as if to cement herself to him] No waaay, I'm coming with you!

Fair enough. Maybe I'd better let you two sort yourselves out and settle on just what we're doing next.

[Heh. Somehow, he's getting the feeling that this sort of thing isn't an isolated occurrence..... Well, that's certainly not his problem, is it? Neji can handle it, he's content just to watch. After all, if that's all he'll say about them "for the moment", then he's probably withholding some important information anyway. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course--but then again, there's nothing wrong with gathering intelligence on the people he'll be working with, either.]

[Neji huffs shortly as Lain latches onto him like a particularly persistent leech, glancing down at her with all the disdain of an elder sibling or scornful parent]

I don't see much of anyone else wearing frayed clothing.. At any rate, let's at least get Kisame to where he needs to be before we address anything else.

[She just smiles up at him, tugging him down to plant a kiss on his cheek at the (rather reluctant) agreement of her to go with them]

Yay~!

[She lets him go to dump the skirt pieces into the nearest trash can (along with the scissors because who needs them now!) before returning to loop her arm around Kisame's]

Neji can be a stick in the mud, but he's really great at being a zone leader! He's responsible and hard-working, so you never have to worry about if things are really getting done!

[She pauses, realizing she actually has no idea where they're gong] Where does he need to be?

[Kisame graciously surrenders his arm to Bold, shaking his head and huffing in amusement as he glances over at Neji. He thinks he's going to enjoy this--the two are awfully cute together, after all, and he does like kids.]

Is that so? I think I know his type, then..... Glad to hear we have someone we can rely on. How is it being partners with each other?

[And sometimes Neji honestly believes Bold does everything she can to complicate his life. It's a good thing he is responsible, or the district wouldn't run]

I'm a Jounin- and he's on Shift Two. Kisame is also another shinobi from our world, Lain. [Irritable for the fact that she's clinging to a member of the Akatsuki and apparently oblivious to the danger he poses. Like Kisame even looks remotely approachable- let alone friendly enough to hang of off. Neji turns on heel with a steely look and set of his jaw, and does his best to hammer down his anxiety and maintain a relatively neutral tone]

It's interesting, to say the least, particularly when it comes to Bold.

[She doesn't seem to notice the danger at all--or really care even if she did.] Oh, really? Cool! [She grins easily up at the criminal whose arm she's claimed for her own] Are you a Jounin too?

[Her eyes travel up to his headband where her brow furrows in confusion] That doesn't look like the symbols for Sand or Leaf...

[Excuse you neji, you love them. Bold raised an eyebrow, turning her gaze skyward and speaking in a thoughtful, casual tone of voice] Something about the way he says that...makes me want to smother him with a pillow tonight...

[Which doesn't sound suggestive at all no shush]

Yeah, I'm a Jounin, too. Originally from the Village Hidden in Mist.

[His foreboding appearance is enough to drive off most, but it's kind of refreshing to have someone so..... well, bold. Bold doesn't seem to be scared of him at all, whether through looks or criminal background, and given the state of affairs he finds himself in, he really has no need to act threatening towards either of them in the slightest. Kisame moves to follow Neji once more, offering the pair a crooked smile.]

Interesting, I can imagine..... Sounds like you'll need to sleep with one eye open tonight. And it sounds like you'll probably need to be prepared for a counter-attack; Neji-taichou looks like a real fighter, don't you think?

[Originally. He'll have to explain the missing-nin and Akatsuki in more detail a little later- if only for the sake of her knowing who Kisame is and what he represents. If her attachment to him is any indication, she won't heed the warning he'll be trying to get across.

Neji leads the way, listening for any signs of distress as he walks. Conversation at least, fueled a steady stream of consistency he wouldn't have issues hearing disruptions in if there were issues at any point. Granted, Kisame has little reason to attack Lain, Neji doesn't pretend to know the man beyond his single past encounter with him]

...I'm more concerned about the foreseeable state of the house.

There are other villages? [She can't really feel surprised, but she is interested.]

I can take 'im! [It's said with a lot of confidence.

She's quiet for a minute or so then before she lets go of Kisame's arm and moves up to Neji's side, hands folded in front of her; Bold's gone now, with Lain taking over, looking mildly confused]

Who is-- Where are we going?

...Why is my skirt torn up...

Is it really that bad?

[Kisame gives Neji a curious look, eyes returning to Bold--to Lain--as she retreats to Neji's side. Looks like he'll meet both of them sooner than they'd thought..... Strange, there doesn't seem to be any particular reason for the shift to occur. He supposes it doesn't really matter--they are impressively easy to tell apart. and any issues it causes are Neji's problem, anyway.]

Just a bit of a fashion disaster, that's all..... Name's Hoshigaki Kisame, one of your new Watch members. Nice to meet you, Lain-taichou.

[Even Neji changes a little- relaxing the line of his shoulders and idly catches her hand to breath reassurance into her]

Bold didn't agree with your choice of wardrobe, apparently.. We're just showing Kisame where he'll be patrolling, though you're free to return home and change if you'd like instead.

[She peered shyly over her shoulder, giving a nod of greeting since she couldn't bow mid-stride] Pleased to meet you, Kisame-san. [The look then turns embarrassed] Ah-- you don't have to... call me that...

[The title seems to big too her] Um, are you getting along well here so far?

[The hand against hers draws her attentions away briefly. Her fingers curl around his and the smile the turns up her mouth is genuine and warm]

No, that's alright. I can't say I'm surprised, or that I didn't expect it. I'd rather stay with you, if that's okay?

You got it. I'm doing well enough, I guess..... Still getting settled, but this place doesn't seem half bad so far.

[It's hard to believe that these two are the same person..... He's not sure he ever would have expected it, had he not been warned up front. But they're right, Lain is cute..... charming in her own way, he supposes, though he's generally not too fond of meekness at all. Will someone like her, it probably can't be helped if her personalities tend towards extremes.]

[Neji nods, relieved enough to have her back up here with him where he can protect her, rather than with Kisame where he couldn't see her]

As you're aware, this is where Morning Training is held every day. It falls under our jurisdiction. From the eastern side of the staircase, to the northern-most point of the city, this is the Outer Residential Quarter III. It's host to morning training, a residential lodging, Death City's hot springs, and a church.
