This meme is here to let prospective characters mingle ICly with the characters already in the game and each other. It helps us introduce various scenarios that you're likely to encounter in Soul Campaign and the different places used in the game. Hopefully, this helps you figure out if the game is really suited to your needs or not -- otherwise, just have fun!

The scenarios for this cycle are:
1. You've just come back from a mission and it's late. All you want to do is get back to your room. Unfortunately, the moon is beginning to drool again! Run home before you get gooped, or join the local kids in a game of Dodge the Drool!
2. You and your partner's mission was going well... at first. Now you're trapped in a warehouse with a massive kishin egg sniffing the both of you out. How will you get out of this situation with your lives?
3. There's a heat wave in Death City! Temperatures soar! Even though it's a dry heat, it's still unbearable. Challenge your friends to a popsicle-eating contest or try frying an egg on the sidewalk. Either way the sun's entertained.
4. You're late for class! But the Shibusen stairs await...
5. Fastest way to find a partner is to introduce yourself with bad pickup lines. Your time starts now!

Just choose any one randomly, or make up your own, we don't mind! To make things simpler, please follow this subject line:

[ He remembers Geostigma and encouraging you to kick some ass, bro. He got to see you win and recover -- that's where his story ends. ]

[ That isn't to say he hasn't been late before...but details. ]

I guess I'm out of practice.

[Might be the sun, but his hair is awful silver rather than blond, not that he ever mentions that anymore. Details like that don't matter, right?]

Can the Great Zack Fair ever be out of practice?

[He reaches down to unstrap himself from his board.]

Are you going to Shibusen?

[ ...he does notice that. Did you dye your hair, Cloud? ]

I haven't been SOLDIER for a while.

[ Or had a body for a while, but that's...yeah, not gonna go there at the moment. ]

Yeah.

I wanted to see what I could find out.

[That information causes his fingers to pause before he stands upright again. So... it's been after that then? He knows a little of the future ahead of him. He also knows the dead can come back.]

SOLDIER is destroyed. Good men now have to be regular soldiers.

[He shifts almost uncomfortably before getting the board off his feet and lifting it easily.]

You're new then and don't remember. That happens. Are you a meister or a weapon?

[ He absorbs that information quietly. As much as he values the ideals passed onto him by Angeal (dreams and the honor of a SOLDIER), the project has brought a lot of suffering to the world.

It's the end of an era, and well...he's a relic of another age. ]

It's just as well.

[ Again, the mention of him returning... He seems a little puzzled but not much else. ]

[He shrugs, neither agreeing or disagreeing. People will kill other people regardless of their strengths anyway. He has seen that too often.]

Ah, so am I. You get to use skills to battle rather than turn into a weapon to be wielded. You wouldn't be able to sit still in weapon form, so it fits.

[He shrugs again, trying not to put emotion into it. He can't admit Zack has been here four times before.]

Depends. Some people come once and never again. Others... come and go a few times. They don't always remember.

[ It's the lack of emotion that actually tips him off -- they're friends, yet there's a distance he can't quite pinpoint the reason for.

...is it because he's come and gone before? ]

I see.

[ A beat. ]

How long have you been here?

[Now is not the time to let Zack be overly perceptive about him, but he's never been good at dodging that sort of thing. Taking one someone else's personality and characteristics had it's downside.]

Me? Almost a year.

[A beat of his own.]

I've seen a lot of people come and go.

...including me.

[ It's a guess, mostly, but there's...something odd about this, and he would rather clear the air between them than let things hang that he doesn't know about. ]

How many times?

[He shrugs, but it's rather unenthusiastic. Not really the topic he wants to discuss.]

A few. You came from all over.

[A pause.]

That happens too. Time isn't as it seems for BREW.

[ ...so that's it.

He's been popping in and out from all over their world's timeline, and Cloud's had to deal with the fallout. ]

...I'm sorry.

[de_faulty_hero]

[He frowns a little and kicks a pebble aside.]

Don't be. It's not your fault. You couldn't have stopped it from happening anyway.

Maybe not.

[ That doesn't mean he's not sorry or worried about you, bro. :c ]

There's no maybe about it.

[He says this rather firmly, eyeing the other man despite the distance between them. He sets his shoulders a little more.]

No real complaint. War is what even would-be SOLDIERs are good at.
