If it will please your simple mind, I shall choose 'truth'.

[...But he'll play along just this once if you insist, Motochika.]

[Letting the jibe pass because he has something more important to ask.]

What do you think of Sayaka?

[reverencing]

[He pauses at the name, trying to recall where he had heard it. He can recall Motochika referring to Magoichi as such over the network, the logical conclusion to draw is that that is who he refers. The Western leader cants his head a bit to the side, mulling over this question.]

Magoichi? She has come to prove herself as a reliable and most trustworthy ally. I respect her willingness to honour the pact made between the Saika and the Toyotomi.

[seafares]

Huh, I thought you two knew each other better then that.

[To him, that's the minimum you would say about her. And while it's technically Mitsunari's turn, he's going to keep going because he doubts Mitsunari is going to play along otherwise.]

[reverencing]

[Mitsunari pauses at Motochika's response, his brow furrowing a bit.]

I feel I know her quite well. [Magoichi is his ally - he trusts her, is that not enough?] Is there something more?

[seafares]

[A little bit confused.]

Don't you see her when you're not fighting? Anyone could say that about her after being in one battle with her.

[reverencing]

I have spent time with her away from battle, yes. [He gives a short nod] But I do not see how that should affect matters. I offer her just as much respect as she has earned and place the faith I can in her.

[He is not certain what you're getting at, Pirate...]

[seafares]

[Doing that Fry squint, but now that he thinks about it it does make sense. Mitsunari isn't exactly a glowing example of thoughtfulness.

But really, is that it?]

Yeah, I'll probably get more if I go to her myself. [He rubs the back of his head as if he can feel where she'll hit him for asking stupid questions already.]

[reverencing]

[He's aware it's his turn in this silly game but he's not a fan of Motochika's vague words. There's something the pirate isn't telling him.]

Truth or dare - [he speaks quickly, not at all caring which one Motochika picks] what do you mean you will "go to her yourself"? What are you playing at, Pirate?

Sorry, can't say anything now. [This is probably a bad idea, but since when did he ever have good ideas?]

[reverencing]

Very well - I dare of you to explain yourself.

[Try and weasel your way out now, Pirate.]

[seafares]

That's cheating! Pick something else.

[Nope too late. The dulcet tones of Excalibur's singing start filling his head and the way Motochika pales shows how much he dislikes it. He scrubs at his head roughly.]

Gah, what is that infernal racket?!

[reverencing]

[Mitsunari hears nothing!]

Pirate. Cease your blathering and answer my dare.

[seafares]

Pick something else first!

[Why does blocking his ears not stop it? GET IT OUT OF HIS HEAD.]

[reverencing]

Answer what you have been given.

[seafares]

[Right now he has two problems, the irritating singing in his head and Mitsunari's insistence. He could walk away from Mitsunari and get rid of one problem that way, but there's a good chance the other man would just follow him.

So there is only one option left, to reduce his misery.]

[There did he say it fast enough to be unintelligible? The singing also seems to have stopped.]

[And the meaning behind that goes right over his head-]

Why would I hold any interest in that? The current leader of that band of mercenaries upholds her duties and position well.

[Thankfully, Mitsunari is willing to accept that answer for the time being.]

[Motochika needs to divert Mitsunari's attention before he uses his next turn to make him explain himself again so blurts the first thing he knows will work.]
