Slowly, he closed his eyes and tried to imagine the blackness behind his eyelids was that soothing darkness that he had fallen into before he had woken up on that strange floor. It wasn't as soothing as he remembered it, but it allowed his burnt ears to pick up the subtle shift of papers nearby.
