Yuri silently watched his father for a long time after those words were spoken. He knew why the man had retired from his duties. It was the entire reason why he had lost his father and his mother at the same time. Yet he did not blame either of them. He had been the one to destroy both of their lives, and it was his responsibility to take care of his mother while he continued his father's work.
That was a topic best considered later though, and he pushed it to the back of his mind as he moved to stand up. Brushing down his suit to iron out the creases, Yuri gracefully reached out to pick up his documents before half-turning away from the bed. He didn't walk off though, and while he didn't look at his father, his full attention was on the man.
"Whether you remain retired here or not is your decision, and your decision alone," he murmured to begin with. There was a slight pause, almost as if he was considering his options, before Yuuri said, "You should be focusing on your recovery first and foremost though. Everything else can be discussed once you're well enough to do so."
