[Somehow, Takuto has managed to make his way into his twenties without getting killed by any monsters or significant others. Not that there hadn't been any close calls, of course.
Takuto is stronger, slightly taller, and he doesn't bother bleaching his hair galactic blond anymore. He drinks responsibly, and has become an expert at making pizza from scratch. Having your first kiss or losing your virginity doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore, and he can even admit that without blushing (too much). But in the last year or so, he's actually felt older, or more mature. It's not that he's any less or more confident than he was as a teen, but something about the quality of his confidence that has changed.
As something much more like an adult, Takuto now teaches at morning training, and he's surprised himself by being rather good at it. He can finally control his meister ability, and rather enjoys being so dazzling, much to the chagrin of any weapons he's wielding. As for missions, he's been everywhere and helped several weapons halfway to Death Scythe status. Some stayed, and some left. But he's much better at accepting it when people close to him return to their worlds. That's where they belong, after all.
Takuto doesn't miss home. Death City is home.
Firecracker has grown into an incredibly chill dog. The labrador sleeps on a cushion in the living room (only sharing Takuto's bed when he doesn't have other company, which is usually never). The dog seems to have that canine sense for knowing good guys from bad guys, and also for rolling in horrible smelling things.
Takuto has somewhat reluctantly given up on the idea of ever properly getting married. It's too confusing to figure out how that would even work, given that he is, in every sense of the word, a dual-wielder. The actual institution of marriage isn't really that important to him, other than he wants to be able to have a ceremony--well, let's be honest, he just wants the party and a bride in a fancy dress.
Takuto still spends quite a bit of time with his friends doing relatively mundane things like having dinner or going to movies, and trying to help them sort through their lives. He still works for the Watch, though he moved to an afternoon shift a long time ago. He still takes Firecracker for long walks into the park and around the city. At night, he still watches the stars.]
