Raidou Kuzunoha | SMT: Devil Summoner

At the same time, she confuses the hell out of him at times, simply because... Well, she's just that motherly. Raidou has had guardians, of course, but while they do care for him they were never very openly affectionate, and his parents have always been the kind of distant relatives you respect but who you don't really expect to be around much. As such, Rei's neverending hugs are bewildering, but he's found he rather likes them -- perhaps because she's so unconditional with her affection. She doesn't expect him to commit to his duties or behave in a right way to earn her attention. She's comforting in a way that he can't quite recognize, but that he's starting to suspect might be something most children feel around their parents.
...He can't say that out loud though. Partly because he doesn't have it quite figured out in his head, and partly because he doesn't want her to think he's weird.

Raidou respects her a lot. Part of it is because she's a fellow swordsman, and a skilled one at that; but her personality is a big part of it too. She has always been very kind whenever Raidou has seen her, and she's clearly deeply devoted to her friends. That alone would be enough for him to like her, but when you add her fierceness (he has sported quite a number of bruises from training with her), it's easy to tell she's the kind of person who does what she believes is right and doesn't take crap from anyone. That kind of attitude isn't always easy to maintain, especially with the way women tend to be looked down on, so Raidou appreciates her strength and her willingness to continue training and leading her father's dojo.

Edgeworth was the first person to welcome Raidou to Death City, and he gave him a place to work and make himself useful. Maybe this is why he's a kind of constant in Raidou's life now; there's a sort of comfort in Edgeworth always being present and capable of giving clear and trustworthy directions. I mean trustworthy in the sense that Raidou can always trust him to make fair and just decisions with no fear of any kind of corruption being involved.
So basically Raidou looks up to Edgeworth a lot; he's rational without being cold (at least by Raidou's standards), he's very knowledgeable and accomplished and still trying to learn more. That, and as much as Raidou likes his old boss, the truth is that Edgeworth is far more efficient with the way he leads the Agency.
Of course, the recent events have only strengthened his loyalty to his boss. While there is some guilt involved, that's not the only reason -- at this point, Edgeworth is a friend, and someone Raidou would risk his life for without hesitation.
He does wonder about the whole issue with the Edgeworths and von Karmas. He knows Franziska's father did something bad, and that Miles was adopted into the family sometime in his early life. He's just not sure whether to ask about it or not...

Raidou doesn't know her as well as some of his other co-workers, but he does consider her a trusted comrade. She seems very quiet at times, which is not necessarily a bad thing. She brings a kind of balance to all the more outspoken members of the Agency, which makes her pleasant to be around. He appreciates how hard she works despite not being experienced in law-enforcement like many of the others; that kind of thing could get intimidating fast.
He only knows vaguely about what happened in her world. While he's curious, he doesn't know whether to ask about it, since he did promise to stay quiet and he's not sure if it's his business to know more. Either way, he'd definitely like to know her better.

For a while Raidou mostly knew Kanji as Naoto's friend. Seeing how fervently he has been looking after her pretty much made Raidou's respect for him skyrocket very quickly. He doesn't mind the rough exterior since he has befriended demons with worse personalities before, and Kanji has definitely shown he's a kind person regardless of his temper.
The kidnapping incident complicated things; Raidou is painfully aware that Kanji has seen the worst side of him and knows things that Raidou himself isn't ready to face yet. He's very grateful that Kanji seems to understand what happened, but there's still lingering guilt about the way he behaved, and he hopes he can make up for it somehow.

They don't know each other that well, but Hanabi seems polite, sensible, and hard-working, and Raidou respects her dedication and drive to get stronger at such young age. In some sense, she reminds him of himself when he was younger -- their behavior and sense of duty are definitely similar enough. Raidou tries to look out for her when he can and would gladly train with her if she wanted to.

Hanabi had fun helping Alucard with Raidou's birthday party and she's glad that if Alucard didn't wind up as her Weapon partner, that he got someone like Raidou. She's actually hoping to be able to try a resonance chain with them once she has a Weapon partner of her own because she thinks they'd be able to pull it off.

Looking back, Raidou can see why their previous selves were partners. Their thoughts tend to go along the same lines, not to mention their overall behavior is very similar. Having someone who understands him that well is refreshing, particularly since he didn't exactly have friends he could relate to when he was younger. He admires her drive and skills as a detective as well, and trusts her to have his back in just about any situation.
...And while it's too embarrassing for him to admit, he... kind of wonders, just a little bit, whether having a younger sibling might feel something like this. Is that strange?
For Ammy:
She breaks his brain. So much. He has been raised to serve the Yatagarasu, who in turn serves Amaterasu, making her the deity his family ultimately worships. Being around her instantly makes him humble and respectful... and then she completely turns that around by actually being a big ball of fluff that deserves all the snacks and all the pets and who's a good girl who's agood girl that's right you are here's your belly rub--
...And then he remembers this is the goddess who's the mother of nearly every other god and uh. He feels like there should be some kind of rules for how one is supposed to address her, but then she just gets affectionate and breaks his brain a little more.
All brain breaking aside, though, he does feel safe around her and appreciates it when she comes to calm him down when bad things start happening. He wants very much to be worthy of her attention and as such may try a little too hard to please her, hence all the confusion over how to behave when she's around.
