1. Raidou is not his real name. It is the name of one of the Four Great Summoners whose names are passed down in the Kuzunoha family to the strongest of the clan. This Raidou is the 14th to carry the title.

2. Raidou grew up in the Kuzunoha Village in Shinoda mountains, isolated from the rest of the world until he earned his title and moved on to Tokyo.

3. Because his entire life was all about being prepared to become Raidou Kuzunoha, duty is just about all he really knew anything about for a long time. It never used to occur to him that there could be anything else he could do with his life, and even now he doen't really question it.

4. Also due to the heavy focus on duty, Raidou went through strict training from the moment he was old enough to start learning things. Distractions were never allowed, which is why why hobbies and casual hanging out is a bit difficult fot him to wrap his mind around.

5. He had no one to talk with when he was younger and was just generally discouraged from admitting any weaknesses. As a result, he was mostly silent for a long time. He got better at talking after starting to work with Narumi, but he still feels a bit insecure about speaking his mind, half-expecting people to either think he's boring or scold him for complaining.

6. That said, Raidou is very confident when it comes to things he knows how to deal with. Fighting demons, stopping big conspirancies, preventing 800 meter robots from leveling the city - those sort of things barely make him blink.

7. As a Devil Summoner, he has been trained to use demons as weapons, to be collected, discarded and modified through fusion as necessary. Raidou can't bring himself to treat his demons so coldly when they swear loyalty to him so fervently; they're the closest things to friends he has besides Narumi and Tae. He always does his best to look after them and doesn't use them for demon fusion unless he absolutely needs to.

8. Raidou's mentor - the one he looks up to the most - is a cat. A talking cat, mind you, but still a cat. This presents Raidou with a dilemma: he has great respect for Gouto, but he also can't help but find him adorable. Especially when approached with cat toys.

9. According to the official fan book, Raidou's favorite food is "candied sweet potato with lots of honey". That said, he often has to eat ox bezoars and Life Stones and whatnot to stay alive, making his sense of taste a little odd.

10. Since Devil Summoner doesn't look very believeable in most resumes, Raidou officially works part-time at Narumi Detective Agency while studying at Yumizuki High School. However, he misses school a lot because of his work, to the point his classmates barely know him.

11. He always wears his hat. Even in bath houses when he's wearing nothing else.

12. Raidou does have a sex drive, but it's very repressed. One reason is that he can't let things like dating distract him from his duty. The other is that he has to fight both against and alongside some rather scantily-clad female demons, and getting distacted in the middle of a battle gets you killed. He generally ignores any flirting directed his way and just doesn't think about the topic. If he does end up feeling attracted to someone, he'll have no idea what to do.

13. He's used to doing most of the chores at the Agency, since Narumi can be very very lazy. As such, he's gotten good at cleaning up, doing laundry and brewing coffee and tea.

14. Raidou's ancestor was probably a fox. No, really.

15. It's not easy to make Raidou angry. The one certain way to make it happen is to put his friends in danger, after which he is perfectly willing to break a wine bottle on your head and smile while doing it.

What is an "ox bezoar," and is it really as terrible as it sounds?

It is a stone-like mass removed from the stomach of an ox, used for healing wounds quickly. I have had no trouble swallowing one, but some people find it unpleasant.
